1. Project brief.

The client came to me with a part-time referral-based colour consultancy business.

Shirley was ready to move her business forward. Her goal was for prospective clients in her desired area to easily find her online and to have consistent leads coming through a new website.

2. The challenge.

The client had no personal branding and was relying on the parent franchise from where she was certified (Colour Me Beautiful).

She didn’t have her own online space that spoke like she did and had nowhere to get across her warmth to potential clients.

3. What we did.

  • We distilled the client’s personality into a tone guide: positive, supportive, and encouraging. We also worked together on the name of the business, making it feel personable and ensuring clients instantly felt comfortable with Shirley.

  • Brand colouring was really important for this consultancy businesss. It had to be complementary but not shy away from brighter hues. We were able to create a ‘pastel-meets-bold’ palette that entices clients to the excitement of colour.

  • We discussed common client pain points and Shirley’s value, and combined this with her natural tone of voice to have copy that spoke to her clients in the most authentic way.

  • Shirley knew how valuable imagery would be to make her clients feel comfortable and confident in booking with her. We arranged a photo day where I was able to take some candid photographs to include in her website.

  • Shirley knew she wanted a simple site that was easy to navigate. I created a 5-page website that combined her imagery, copy, and colour palette to give her an online space that felt like her and resonated with her clients.

  • Shirley is a retainer client who continues to get assistance with the likes of digital assets and other brand documentation. We work to continually improve the types of leads, reviews, as well as introducing social platforms and community groups.

4. The result.

Shirley’s aim was to have 3 solid leads a month. She is currently averaging 5 leads a month through the website, and has a 88+% success rate on turning these enquiries into clients.

When asked why they picked Shirley, the majority of clients said the personable voice on the website was the same authentic voice they were met with on the initial call. It made them feel confident who they were going to meet and comfortable right from the start.
